The process of sensor removal and further replacement is very similar to the process of installation. Please, find all the installation steps provided in the article Physical Installation Manual.
In order to remove installed rivets, it will be necessary to use the impact driver or cordless power drill mentioned in the article Tools for Setup.
The process of rivet removal (Go to Rivet Removal) can be divided in three steps:
- Examine the rivet head. Some heads have small indentations in the center, while others have a smooth head. If you have a smooth rivet head, place the point of a small center punch in the center of the rivet head and strike it with a hammer. This creates a small indentation in the center of the rivet head to act as a guide for the drill bit.
- Install a 4mm drill bit in a power drill. Insert the tip of the drill bit into the small indentation on the rivet head.
- Place a slight amount of pressure on the drill trigger to start rotating the drill bit in the indentation. Slowly increase the speed of the drill until your drill bit penetrates the rivet head. This should release the rivet; if not, center the punch over the rivet and strike the punch to remove the rivet. Otherwise, hold the drill straight over the rivet and drill it to push it out entirely, being careful not to widen the surrounding hole.
After rivets are removed, if it is needed, remember to replace the old device with the new device using the Nordsense Walker app before the actual physical installation of the new device. Otherwise, remember to dissociate the old device (Unpair Sensor) using the Nordsense Walker app by scanning the device and following the provided instructions in the app.
The guidelines for replacing the sensor via Nordsense Walker app are mentioned below:
The removal and replacement of the sensor occurs only when both parties agree on that.
|1 Open the Nordsense Walker app.|
2 Login with your credentials:
|3 Choose - "Replace Sensor" or "Unpair Sensor" depending on your needs.|
|4 Scan the old, faulty device.|
|5 After you have successfully scanned the old device, the message - "Scan new device" will appear on the screen.|
|6 Remove the sticker on the device and scan the NFC tag on the new device.|
|7 When the message "Device successfully swap" appears on the screen, you are good to go.|
|8 Now you can proceed with the physical installation of the new device.||Go to Physical Installation Manual|
